Libel and slander

Libel is defined as the publication of material that identifies and defames a person, resulting in that person's exposure to hatred, contempt, ridicule, and causes him or her to be shunned or avoided.Slander  is which can apply  to broadcasting, and is the voicing of defamatory statements about some to another person.
