Liquor baron Vijay Mallya withdrawn advertisement offending cricketer family after formal complaint.The legal notice sent to Mallya's company said particular ad mocked singh's family and sikh community, but surprisingly the Advertising standard Council of India, a self regulatory voluntary organization of advertising industry, hasn't received single complaint against offensive commercial.Indian are taking their ads a lot more seriously, till now mid 2011,received 722 complaints against 187 commercials.They (ASCI ) introduced toll free number last .Earlier people need to send clipping of the offensive advertisement through snail mail.The good news is that 100% legal backing for offensive ad as compared to print.since cable TV Act says ASCI code has to be followed in Television commercials.Perhaps ,the ASCI ,is the only self regulating organization in the world recognized by the GOVT.
